The Water Department consists of 4 employees, including a certified and licensed electrician. Water treatment, production and distribution are handled by this department. The City gets its water from two sources:
1. Griffith Springs (which produces 95% of source water) and
2. Denton Well (which produces remaining 5%)
The City Maintains over 15 miles of pipelines and 4 (soon to be 5) closed reservoirs. The City also has almost 1,000 metered connections that as of May 2006 will be read entirely by state-of-the-art, electronic radio-read meters.
